A Call of the Wind Empty A Call of the Wind

Post by Zeith Corry Tue Sep 29, 2015 6:01 am

It was a nice day with the sky, a painting of a vast ocean of clear topaz. There are no clouds to block the sun but the chilling wind kept the temperature cool at the Wind Tribe Village. It was a perfect time for Zeith to simply play around and have fun. During this time though, being at high noon, most of the people at his village is asleep and Zeith wasn't able to convince any of his friends to sneak out and play with him. Thus, there he is alone at the park that lies afloat above the eastern most side of the village. He played with the wind torrent that sends one up towards the park through a huge hole at its center. He would then jump down from the edge of the park and land at the fluffy grass beneath the park, making ones landing safe. He would repeat the cycle for a couple of tries until finally, he grew tired of doing the same stuff.

Feeling bored, he simply sat by the large wind pipe that stands at the east side of the park. He closed his eyes as his body gently swayed, following the serene wind music that the wind pipe produces. He dreamed of flying far across the huge forest beside their village, exploring whatever is beyond their land. Since after the incident where he lost his voice, the village guards have been more strict in surveying the surroundings of their village, making any plan of sneaking out highly impossible. Although his passion for exploration never left him, Zeith simply can't follow them because of the protection of those around him.

Isis's eyes widened as the was teleported out of her village, and into a pretty windy place. "The wind tribe..." Isis thought to herself. She saw a young boy. "Excuse me! How do I get out of here?" Isis asked the boy. She was pretty annoyed by this. This stupid shadow thing shoes up and she's sucked out of her tribe and into another tribe, the wind tribe. Hey, at least there was a cool breeze, which Isis did like. However, she much preferred the harsh winds of a blizzard in the Water Tribe.

Zeith was surprised upon hearing an  unfamiliar voice nearby. He looked around and saw a girl at her teen age, obviously older than him. She has a long black hair, with a very light skin tone. She has that cold look on her, which seem to hide her confusion.

Zeith pulled out his pad and pen, writing something and showed it at the lady. "Uhmmm... hello. Well I don't know where you came from but right now, it's not a good time to get out because the guards are at their highest alert level during these times where everyone is asleep for the noontime nap." Zeith smiled, rubbing his head, unsure of how he would answer the girl's question.

Isis shook her head. "No, that's not what I meant. I'm lost. I don't know where I am. I was just... teleported here." Isis said, as if it was the most casual thing in the world, which it wasn't. What was casual about this shadowy figure warping you out of your tribe and into another one. "Listen, I'm from the water tribe, and I'm terrible on the geography of all the other tribes." Isis said.

A Call of the Wind Empty Re: A Call of the Wind

Zeith suddenly moved closer to the girl in his curiosity. As if merely observing a gallery display, he moved his face closer to the lady's face and pulled it back after a few seconds.

Again, he wrote at his notepad, faster than earlier. "Now come to think of it. I haven't seen you around. And did you say from the water tribe? Isn't that way up north from here? How did you end up inside our village?" Zeith's eyes narrowed as he ponder about the girl's mysterious appearance at the park. It's not that he's that good of a thinker but he's finding it unfair for someone from outside their village to be coming in while the guards are so strict that he can't go out.

"Aha! Now I know. You must be a spy!" Weird enough, instead of saying it in a rather fearful or surprised tone, it seemed that Zeith is quite interested on it. "Now tell me. How did you get in." Forgetting about the lady's question earlier about her being lost, Zeith moved closer to the girl again, probing her bout her espionage.

Isis rolled her eyes. Did this kid just completely forget what she told him? She said that she just teleported here, and yet, he was still asking how she got here. He then came up with the ridiculous conspiracy that she was some sort of spy. Isis rolled her eyes. "Listen, kid, I already told you. I was teleported here. Do you not know the meaning of that word, and why the heck would I be a spy, and even if I was, why would I be asking a little kid things? Wouldn't I be asking one of the village elders, um, that is if you have them here." Isis said.

Zeith simply smiled and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. His face then got serious for a while as he wiggle his pen thinking of what to write as a reply for the girl. He wrote again, and sometimes would motion his pen as if erasing some things. It took a bit longer this time before he finally shows his pad to the lady. "I'm sorry. I just thought that it would be a chance for me to get out of the village and explore once again." There are erasures between some words making the message a bit dirty and somewhat hard to read.

Isis gazed expressionless at the boy as he showed him his writing. She just shook her head. "You're too young to be going that far away from your home anyway. Besides, even if I was a spy, why would you think you would get to go on an adventure or something?" Isis asked the young boy. I mean, seriously? This kid thinks he can go outside of his own village? Ugh, she just wouldn't get this kid.

A Call of the Wind Empty Re: A Call of the Wind

Zeith crossed his arms and pouted in disappointment but not staring directly at the girl instead, he chose to look at the ground beneath him. All that hope to be able to get beyond the territory of their tribe, lost with the girl's cold words. He kept his silence for a while, which technically he has been silent all along but this time, he simply kept his depressing posture not doing anything.

After a few minutes however, he sighed and started writing on his notepad. Again, he wrote fast as if in a hurry to catch something. He then faced the girl and smiled heartily at her as he extend his hand forward, showing the girl, his notepad.

"Oh well perhaps I'd have an opportunity one day. Anyway I haven't introduced myself to you yet. My name is Zeith, son of the servants that serve one of the village elders. Well as you've noticed I'm simply writing my messages because I'm mute. Well, I used to be able to speak but that's in the past. How 'bout you? May I at least catch your name?"

Isis read what the boy wrote and just stared at him for a few moments before deciding on what she wanted to say. She then nodded her head. "Isis," was all she said. That was all she would need to say. That was all she would want to say. For now, she just wanted to keep everything simple. She wouldn't want to give away too many things, like her full name. Isis was good though. Just Isis.

Zeith can only sigh in disappointment as Isis seem to have no interest in speaking with him. She did gave her name at least so he's not that cold after all. Perhaps Zeith has been too talkative earlier, or rather wrote so much words and been too forward that pissed the girl.

Zeith again smiled at Isis and again wrote at his notepad. He stopped for a while and pondered then resumed writing. Finally, he showed the piece of paper once again.

"My name is Zeith and I'm pleased to meet you. I'm sorry for bothering you earlier. It's just that I got too excited in having a new face around."
